The Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works is doing so much road repairs and paving that at times it suffers shortage of materials, according to Minister, Lilyana Pavlova.
Speaking Sunday for the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, the Minister forecasted a "hot summer with plenty of construction works and some shortages of asphalt and stone.
Pavlova reminded of the upcoming 130th anniversary of her Institution, founded in 1882 by a decree of Knyaz (Prince) Alexander Battenberg, and stated she was proud to be the first woman leading it.
The festivities to mark the date will be held Wednesday, June 27. There will be an exhibit with 120 panels telling the history of the Regional Ministry, displayed in the park in front of the building of the National "Ivan Vazov" Theater in downtown Sofia.
Pavlova further informed that Johannes Hahn, EU Regional Policy Commissioner, is arriving in Bulgaria on June 30 to lead a public debate on the Danube strategy, held in the Danube city of Vidin. Hahn will also inspect the Vidin – Kalafat Bridge, connecting Bulgaria and Romania and together with Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, will cut the ribbon of Lot 2 of the Trakiya highway between the city of Stara Zagora and the town of Nova Zagora
