Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov visited the north-eastern town of Popovo Saturday to launch finished infrastructure projects, but was uncharacteristically reluctant to engage in usual ceremonies.

Borisov refused to cut ribbons and partake of the traditional Bulgarian ritual bread, reports the BGNES infromation agency.

The Bulgarian PM has been accused of transforming himself into a veritable ribbon-cutter, appearing at all possible places across the country to inaugurate finished, half-finished, or yet to be started projects.

In Popovo Saturday, Borisov launched the new road circumventing the town, as well as the rehabilitated town park.

The BGN 15 M road was financed by Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency, while the BGN 9 M park revamp was funded by EU's Regional Development Operational Programme.
