A total of 26.1% of all Bulgarians would vote for ruling centrist-right GERB party if general elections were to take place now, according to a poll conducted by the Mediana agency.

Left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party is supported by 20% of the population, while ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms has 6.2%, the pollsters say.

5.5% of Bulgarians would vote for Bulgaria for Citizens, a movement founded by former European Commissioner Meglena Kuneva. The movement is yet to officially become a political party.

No other political formations would gather enough votes to enter the Bulgarian Parliament after the 2013 elections, the poll suggests. A total of 34.8% of the people surveyed have declared that they would not vote at all.

A total of 58.1% of the citizens surveyed have stated that they are disappointed with the GERB government, a significant increase as compared to 2009, when the party came in power. However, people do not seem to be seeking a political alternative write now, Mediana experts reckon.
