Bulgaria will move its Agriculture Ministry and the tourism unit of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism to the country's second largest city of Plovdiv by September 2012, a local official has stated.
Approximately 100 employees of the tourism unit will be transferred to Plovdiv, the city's Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov has explained, as cited by the 24 Chasa daily.
Stoyanov, who is in charge of the city's cultural affairs, has pointed out that the relocation of the two Ministries will be beneficial for the local business. The move may also create jobs, provided that some Sofia-based employees refuse to be transferred to Plovdiv.
Bulgaria will move around 20 government agencies away from the capital Sofia by the summer of 2013, the country's Finance Minister Simeon Djankov said Wednesday.
