The wife of alleged Balkan drug lord Sreten Josic, Vera Milosavljevi?, has been expelled from Bulgaria as a threat to national security, according to Serbian news outlets.

Following reports of news portal Telegraf.rs, Milosavljevi?'s Bulgarian passport has been seized and she has been declared a persona non grata for a period of 10 years.

The step is said to have been triggered by the fact that her husband, Sreten Josic, was declared guilty of inciting the murder of Goran Marjanovic in 1995, and is also the subject of a number of other investigations.

According to the Serbian news portal, Milosavljevi? was issued a Bulgarian passport during the term in office of former Vice President Angel Marin.

The website claims that Josic's wife got a work visa and a Bulgarian passport due to the fact that she was presented as an energy expert and worked at a company of energy tycoon Hristo Kovachki.

The website notes that the wife of the alleged Serbian drug lord was later dismissed from Kovachki's company.

Telegraf.rs rejects allegations that Milosavljevi?'s Bulgarian ID documents were issued thanks to Silvia Panagonova, the widow of Bulgarian mafia boss Milcho Bonev a.k.a. Baj Mile.

The website informs that Sreten Josic and Hristo Kovachki have invested an estimated EUR 150 M in the privatization of lucrative companies in Serbia.

Josic is currently serving a 15-year prison term in Serbia for the murder in 1995.

He has been linked to the assassinations of murky Bulgarian businessmen Milcho Bonev a.k.a. Baj Mile in June 2004, Poli Pantev, who was killed in 2001 in Aruba; Konstantin Dimitrov a.k.a. Samokovetsa, who was shot dead in broad daylight in Amsterdam in 2003; and Ivan Todorov - Doctora, who was killed in 2006 in downtown Sofia.
