Daniel Mitov has resigned as a member of the national governing body of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), according to a statement of the right-wing formation.

About two weeks ago, Proshko Proshkov also resigned from the party's governing body, accusing DSB of pursuing "a policy of fear" and of being preoccupied with insider games and with its own survival.

Proshkov is a municipal councilor in Sofia from the DSB quota of the Blue Coalition (comprising the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) and DSB).

He ran for Sofia Mayor at the end-October elections in 2011 and ranked third.

Prior to that he was Mayor of the capital's Losenetz residential district.

In November 2011, Ivan Kostov was reelected as Chair of DSB, while Svetoslav Malinov, Radan Kanev and Daniel Mitov were appointed Deputy Chairs.

The other members of DSB's governing body are Kalin Yanakiev, Ekaterina Mihaylova, Dimitar Bachvarov, Petar Moskov, Dimitar Syarov and Daniela Zhelyazkova.
