Bulgaria: Roma Communities Embark on Three-Day New Year Celebrations
The Roma New Year festivities kick off, spanning three days of cultural revelry
Bulgarian Roma singer Sofia Marinova, who is to represent Bulgaria at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, has launched a special website.
The site created by the Bulgarian National Television, which handles the Eurovision participation on Bulgaria's part - www.sofi-marinova.com – is supposed to help boost the promotion of Sofi Marinova's song "Love Unlimited" for the Eurovision contest in May 2012.
Marinova's website contains information and news about the Bulgarian Roma singer as well as about the song with which she won the Bulgarian Eurovision contest in 2012.
It is now available in Bulgarian and English but in April will also be launched in Serbian, Russian, Spanish, and Greek.
In addition to her own website, Sofi Marinova's promotion campaign relies on her profiles on Facebook - facebook.com/Sofi.Marinova.Official, her YouTube channel (youtube.com/user/SofiMarinovaTV), and her Twitter profile (twitter.com/#!/Sofi_Marinova).
Marinova was chosen on March 7 by the viewers of the Bulgarian National Television and will become the first ever pop folk singer to represent the country in Baku on May 24 in the second semi-final in which 19 countries will take part – they are the only ones that can vote for the Bulgarian song. Of them, 10 will go to the final on May 26.
