The Bulgarian cabinet has appointed as new Governor of the northwestern Vidin region, Tsvetan Asenov.
The news was reported by the government's press office Wednesday, after the regularly scheduled meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Plamen Stefanov had been dismissed from the post and is replaced by Asenov.
Asenov was born in 1968; he is a graduate of the People's Military Construction College "Gen. Blagoy Ivanov" with a major in civil engineering of residential and public buildings.
He has worked as manager for the construction of a facility under the State Enterprise Construction and Rebuilding, GUSV, and then in the private construction sector.
He was manager of the "Multifunctional Construction Enterprise" in Vidin from 2003 until 2010, and Deputy Mayor of Vidin for Construction since November 2010.
