SAP Labs Bulgaria was established in 2000 when SAP decided to come to Bulgaria in order to fill out a concrete product gap. By leveraging the potential of the human capital in our country the lab in Sofia grew to more than 500 employees and managed to position SAP as a key player in the worldwide Java community. The investment of SAP Labs Bulgaria into the Enterprise Java space powers up practically all Java-based products at SAP.
As a technological center involved in the research and development of SAP's platforms for developing business processes and applications, the Bulgarian Lab contributes to the foundation of the on-premise deliveries such as SAP NetWeaver, Composition Environment, BPM, PI, Enterprise Portal – including their administration and lifecycle management. In the on-demand space, SAP Lab Bulgaria is delivering the major part of SAP's Java OnDemand Platform
