Bulgaria: Russian Daily Congratulates Bulgarian Energy Minister on Presidential Inauguration Energy Minister Traicho Traikov in the role of President Rosen Plevneliev

Russian daily Komsomolskaya Pravda got Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Traicho Traikov, mixed up.

The newspaper published a photo of Traikov to an article from January 19, 2012 on the oath-taking ceremony of the new head of state.

The caption below the photo says "The new Bulgarian President took an oath of office".

The publication provides the name of Rosen Plevneliev correctly and states his commitment to observe the principle of political neutrality in his work and to uphold the interests of the state as a priority.

In 2010, a report of the Vatican TV channel confused Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov for the government head of the Republic of Macedonia.

In a report on Borisov's audience with Pope Benedict XVI dedicated to May 24, the Day of Slavic Script and Bulgarian Culture, the Vatican TV mentioned a Macedonian delegation.

"On Saturday, Pope Benedict XVI received a high-ranking delegation from Macedonia on the occasion of the holiday of the Slavic apostles and patrons of Europe, St. Cyril and St. Methodius," the TV report stated.

The TV station apologized for the mistake.
