Bulgaria has a coward for Interior Minister, according to Ivan Kostov, co-chair of the right-wing Blue Coalition.
On Wednesday, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov spoke in the Parliament and claimed that one of the key witnesses in the high-profile Octopus trial implicated that Kostov was in some way linked with a racketeering and extortion gang.
Kostov answered by describing Tsvetanov's words as a "vile insinuation", adding that the Interior Minister is going "out of control" and cannot put facts together.
"We have a coward for an Interior Minister. I declare it before the whole Parliament and I am responsible for my words," Kostov, a former PM (1007-2001), stated.
Earlier on Wednesday, the right-wing leader commented on the latest police brutality scandal, pointing out that Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is apparently unable to deal with his Interior Minister, since his urge for immediate resignations of police officials resulted only in minor sanctions.
