Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP Boasts Record Output in 2011 Photo by BGNES

The Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has produced a record-breaking total of 16 314 271 МWh of electricity in 2011.

The output volume for 2011 sets a a record in the operation of the 1000-MW reactor blocks 5 and 6 and tops the 2008 ceiling by 549 166 МWh, the Kozloduy NPP said in a statement.

The results place the Kozloduy NPP on a par with the world's leading nuclear power stations using this type of reactors.

The coefficient of use of installed capacity in 2011 exceeded 93%, which is another record for the two units' years in operation.

The 15 267 560 МWh production plan for 2011 was fulfilled as early as December 11, the Kozloduy NPP boasted.
