Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council (VSS) will nominate Thursday a Sofia City Prosecutor.
The candidates for the post are Niklay Kokinov, running for a second term in office, Sofia Regional Prosecutor Alexander Nalbantov, and investigating magistrate Boyko Atanasov.
Several weeks ago, Chief Prosecutor Boris Velchev said that he would back Kokinov's bid because he had completed a successful stint as a Head of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office.
In December 2006, Kokinov became the first competitively elected Sofia City Prosecutor.
On July 21, Alaxander Nalbantov was re-elected as Sofia Regional Prosecutor by a unanimous vote.
Nalbantov's only rival, Boyko Atasov, failed to attract a single vote.
