Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria

State-owned Bulgarian Posts will definitely stay on the "no-privatization" list, said Valentin Nikolov, Deputy Chair of the parliamentary group of ruling center-right party GERB on Thursday.
"Publications appeared that Bulgarian Posts have been removed from the list of companies that are not subject to privatization despite commitments to the contrary. These claims are absolutely false," Nikolov told journalists in Parliament.
"The amendments to the Privatization and Post-Privatization Control Act have already passed second-reading and are pending promulgation. Bulgarian Posts remain on the "no-privatization list" after my proposal," Nikolov stated.
The GERB MP urged the media to exercise caution when commenting on such sensitive issues because representatives of Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria (CITUB) had grown furious over the misleading publications.
"You see, an even greater problem could surface amid all the social tension," Nikolov noted.
He further explained that the state-owned postal services operator was headed for the same fate as Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) unless it implemented urgent reforms.
GERB's MP said that discussions were already underway on the appropriate steps to optimize Bulgarian Posts' activities.
On November 25, MPs from the parliamentary economic committee have approved the removal of the state-owned Domestic Diplomatic Properties Agency (ADIS) from list of companies that cannot be privatized.
