Danish supermodel Camilla Vest Nielsen has been sentenced to a prison term of 1 year and 9 months for tax fraud.

In addition, she has also been sentenced to a fine of DKK 3.3 M (EUR 440 000), Europe1 reported.

The 38-year-old blond has been found guilty of cheating Denmark's tax system with DKK 6.5 M between 2001 and 2006.

Camilla Vest Nielsen claims that she lived in the USA during the respective period. However, her tax address was in Denmark, and she spent most of her time in her native country, the court has found.

The supermodel's husband Peder Nielsen has been found guilty as an an accomplice and has received the same jail term.

For the time being, however, Camilla Vest Nielsen and her husband will not be jailed as they are appealing the sentence.
