Over 1 million Bulgarians visited Turkey in the period January-September 2011, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced.

The Turkish statistics show a 10.76% increase in the number of Bulgarian tourists who have visited the country as compared with the same period of 2010. Bulgarians constitute approximately 4.4% of all foreign tourists who have visited Turkey since January 2011.

Only Germans, Russians, Brits and Iranians have outnumbered Bulgaria's tourists in Turkey since the beginning of 2011.

A total of 6.3% of all tourists who have visited Turkey since January have stayed for a single day. The highest number of tourists have entered Turkey through Antalya, Istanbul and Mugla.
