Emanuil Yordanov has been picked to run for vice president on the ballot of the newly emerged Bulgarian right-wing coalition, called Union of Right-Wing Forces, according to reports.

He will be a running mate of Rumen Hristov, the candidate for president.

It is expected that the presidential couple Hristov-Yordanov will register at the Central Election Commission on Friday, a day before the deadline expires.

Emanuil Yordanov graduated in Law from Sofia University "Kliment Ohridski" and worked as a lawyer. In 1997 he was elected MP from the right-wing UDF in the 38th National Assembly.

From 1999 to 2001 he served as Minister of Interior in the government of Ivan Kostov, replacing from the post Bogomil Bonev.

Later, in 2004, Yordanov was elected one of UDF Vice-Presidents.
