The so-called "no name" offers are lowering prices of summer vacations on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, alarmed travel agents inform.

The news was reported Saturday by the BTA news agency.

In such offers, holidaymakers purchase the vacation in advance, but learn only a day before departure where and in which hotel they will stay. Many Bulgarians have chosen this option led by the desire of a cheaper vacation.

As example – a no name, 5-night all inclusive stay in the "St. St. Konstantin and Elena" resort on the northern Black Sea coast, neat the city of Varna, starting on August 28th, can be purchased for BGN 330 per person – or BGN 66 a night until September 6, and BGN 55 a night until the end of the month. In comparison, regular prices for all inclusive stay in the same hotels are BGN 95 – 111 a night in August and BGN 83 – 99 in September.

In the "Elenite" vacation village in the southern coast, a no name all inclusive offer sells for BGN 89 a night per person in August while regular prices are BGN 100 – 110.

Prices on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria traditionally fall in the beginning of September, but the cheapest offers do not come until September 15.

Travel agents, however, say that in summer 2011, only certain hotels have launched these no name or last moment offers because most have been fully booked. Bulgaria has experienced a strong summer season since many tourists have redirected their vacations after civil unrest in northern Africa while, at the same time, a number of Bulgarians have chosen local resorts over foreign destinations.
