One of Deep Purple's legendary songs, Pictures of Home, has been inspired by a Bulgarian radio jingle, the band's bassist, Roger Glover, has revealed.

According to Glover, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore heard the jingle accidentally and it inspired him to compose the song's main riff.

"People have reasons for what they do, even ef they are not aware of that," Glover explained in an interview for the Bulgarian Darik radio.

Pictures of home was included in Deep Purple's 1972 album Machine Head. Blackmore refused to play the song live. Since his replacement with Steve Morse in 1994, the song has become a recent feature in Deep Purple's live shows
