Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, offered yet another controversial statement regarding his possible run for the presidential office in the fall.

"Why not become a presidential candidate? Do I have rights or what? I have been banned from running for the office for years," Borisov said Friday in an interview for the TV channel Nova Televizia, adding when presidential elections approach in Bulgaria, there is always mass hysteria regarding him possibly entering the race.

"I was Mayor of Sofia during the last presidential elections and the same hysteria raged then," Bulgaria's leader stressed.

The PM further gave high marks to Rosen Plevneliev, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, who is the top rated member of the cabinet of the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party, and who has been widely  rumored to be the yet-unknown GERB presidential candidate.

Borisov, however, remained unwavering the name of the GERB presidential nomination would be revealed on September 4.

Regarding reports there is discord among the members of the cabinet, particularly among his two deputies – Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the PM stated the government is working 100%; the dialogue between the two is "great," and people were looking for personal controversies in order to tarnish the rule since there isn't anything else to pick on.

Borisov further stated that he only knew Djankov's, Tsvetanov's and Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov's wives and had no idea about the families of his other ministers because they were all professionals and experts in their sectors and he did not care about having any personal relations with them.
