Bulgarian citizens abroad, wishing to vote for president, must submit their applications by September 27.
The deadline decision on organizing presidential elections abroad was made by Bulgaria's Central Election Commission (CEC).
Diplomatic representations have until August 13 to request approval from the hosting country and, in concordance with its laws, organize election polls at Embassies and Consular Offices, and polls where needed and possible.
According to the CEC decision, election polls will be established at Embassies and Consular Offices where at least 20 people have applied to take part in the vote by the deadline. In locations where Bulgaria does not have diplomatic representation, a minimum of 100 applications will be needed to open a poll. If the applications exceed 1 000, a second poll will be organized.
The voter must list his or her full name, social security number (EGN), the address in the respective country, a permanent address in Bulgaria and the desired voting location. Based on this data, the above said voters will be removed from election lists in Bulgaria.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry has until August 16 to publish the voting abroad rules.
