An ovarian tumor weighing 15 kg was removed from a British tourist Sunday by medics working at the southern Bulgarian Black Sea hospital of Burgas.

The 42-year-old Brit felt strong pains during her stay at the Sunny Beach resort near Burgas, Darik radio reports. After visiting a private clinic, she was redirected to the state-owned Burgas hospital, where the surgical intervention was performed at the department of gynecology.

The British woman's life is not in danger now and she will be accompanied by a supervising Bulgarian medic back to the UK. The tourists and her family have expressed their gratitude to the Burgas team of medics.
