Ministers from countries on the mid and lower Danube signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism as part of a "Danube Floating Conference" dedicated to the development of the region.

The Floating Conference takes place Friday through Sunday on a boat along the Danube river and is hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism of Romania and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of  Serbia.

Sunday conference participants, including ministers from Danube countries from Croatia through the Ukraine, will discuss in the Bulgarian city of Vidin the state of business and tourism along the lower flow of the great river.

The memorandum, signed in the Romanian town of Turnu Severin, marks the principles of cooperation in the completion of joint projects to be financed by operational programmes of the European Union, and is a follow up to the Union's Danube Strategy.
