The Europe-wide Night of Museums is marked Saturday, with its staging in Bulgaria being the most extensive this far.

Over 60 museums and galleries across the country are opening their doors and extending their working hours.

Events are scheduled Saturday throughout the day and on to the dark hours.

Alongside the traditional exhibits of Sofia's central museums, this years Night will feature a "Paper Street" set up in the City Park nearby the National Art Gallery, displaying multifarious artworks made out of paper by international artists.

Another special exhibit will be the "Museum and Memory" show at the National Museum of War History, telling the story of the Bulgarian army throughout the ages.

The Ivan Vazov house, on the other hand, will give the floor to some of Bulgaria's most promising young poets, in a reading relating their work to that of the Bulgarian classical writer.
