Romania Edges Closer to Visa-Free Travel to the US
Romania is making strides toward joining the Visa Waiver Program, a significant milestone that would enable its citizens to travel to the United States visa-free for up to 90 days
The majority of Bulgarian travelers over the Easter holidays are visiting family and friends, according to the Director of the Institute for Analysis and Assessment of Tourism, Rumen Draganov.
Those who use hotels come second with the largest share of them favoring hotels with SPA centers, where rooms were sold out the first. Bulgarians also like booking in small family hotels, guest houses near cities and in the mountains, but large winter and summer resorts are another top choice.
From beach resorts on the Black See coast those of on the northern part – "Golden Sands" and "Albena" have the most bookings for Easter 2011, not only from Bulgarians, but a large number of foreign visitors, particularly people from neighboring Romania.
On the southern Black Sea coast hotels in the "Sunny Beach" and "Pomorie" resorts have also registered a large number of reservations, with some hotels filled up to 80% of their capacity.
Bulgarians, who have decided to travel abroad for Easter, go mainly to neighboring Greece and Macedonia where the Eastern Orthodox traditions are similar; there are many promotions, and proximity offers the opportunity to people to travel in their own vehicles.
In addition to Bulgaria and the Balkans, Bulgarian travelers have been choosing western European destinations, related not only to Easter but to culture and history as a whole.
