The Bulgarian government will carry out an evacuation of Sudanese refugees from the Tunisian-Libyan border, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has announced.

The operation will start Wednesday and will continue on Thursday. The "Bulgaria Air" air carrier will execute a total of three flights between the Tunisian city of Djebra and Khartoum.

The evacuation is a part of EU's efforts to cope with the humanitarian crisis provoked by rhe thousands of refugees fleeing Libya. Up to 50% of it will be financed by the EU Mechanism for Civil Protection.
