Daniel Mitov, Deputy Chairman of GERB, has expressed his readiness to assume the position of Acting Foreign Minister
Bulgaria's right-wing Blue Coalition is going to be ready with their nomination for president by the end of April, the Coalition's co-Chair, Ivan Kostov, announced during a Monday press conference.
It was also reported during the press conference that Kostov's Democrats for Strong Bulgaria, DSB, party is going to hold talks with the other party in the Coalition, the Union of Democratic Forces, UDF, to have joint registration with the Central Electoral Commission, CEC, and a joint candidature in order to strengthen the right-wing position and increase the voters' trust in it, compared to previous elections.
The strategy further includes seeking a nomination which can receive a larger support, outside the party followers.
The name most often mentioned by media and public as a possible right-wing candidate is the one of ex Foreign Minister and now Member of the European Parliament, Nadezhda Neynski, formerly Mihaylova. A recent poll shows she has about 10% support.
The Blue Coalition is to negotiate with other parties as well, but first must sort out their own matters, Kostov says, reminding of the need of international monitors at the fall presidential and local elections.
The election platform of the presidential candidate must focus on education, health care and administration, the DSB leader pointed out.
