Bulgaria's production of natural gas in December 2010 compared to November 2010 increased by 48.1% to 40 million cubic meters, according to the country's National Statistical Institute.

The Bulgarian production of electricity grew by 18.7% to 4 650 GWh in the same period, the institute also revealed.

However, the country's production of solid fuels decreased by 15.5% to 2 752 thousand tonnes, liquefied petroleum gases by 35.7% to 9 thousand tonnes, unleaded motor gasoline by 14.9% to 131 thousand tonnes, and transport diesel by 15.8% to 144 thousand tonnes.

On an year on year basis, the production of solid fuels in December 2010 increased by 4.7%, unleaded motor gasoline by 7.4%, and electricity by 15.0%. Because of the start of natural gas extraction from newfound local gas fields at the end of 2010, the production in December 2010 compared to December 2009 increased from 0.7 to 40 million standard cubic meters. An year on year decrease was reported for the production of liquefied petroleum gases by 25.0% and transport diesel by 16.3%.

Bulgaria's deliveries of natural gas in December 2010 compared to November 2010 increased by 40.6% to 367 million standard cubic metres and electricity by 25.4% to 3 323 GWh. The deliveries of solid fuels decreased by 14.9% to 3 051 thousand tonnes, liquefied petroleum gases by 3.7% to 26 thousand tonnes, unleaded motor gasoline by 13.7% to 44 thousand tonnes, and transport diesel by 19.9% to 121 thousand tonnes.

The deliveries of solid fuels in December 2010 compared to December 2009 increased by 4.2%, liquefied petroleum gases by 8.3%, natural gas by 10.5%, and electricity by 0.1%. Decrease was reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline by 10.2% and transport diesel by 32.0%.
