More than 16,000 Bulgarians have rallied in central Sofia gathered by the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party in protest against PM Boyko Borisov's government.
The protest, under the motto "Red Card for the Cabinet", asks for a stepping down of Borisov over what socialists claim to be his disastrous achievement in the country's economy and people's well-being.
Protestors have flooded the central Alexander Batenberg Sq. near the buildings of the Government, Parliament and President, and is expected to continue over the afternoon.
In addition to overall concerns about the economy, unemployment and pauperization of many Bulgarians, speakers expressed concern with what they saw as the cabinet's neglect of fields such as healthcare and education and its alleged defense of various private interests.
Among slogans carried by protesters are "Enough PR, boasting and muscle-pumping!" and the usual "Djankov go home!" refering to former World Bank employee, now Bulgarian Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov.
