There are no reports about Bulgarian casualties or injured or missing Bulgarians in Japan, the Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Vesela Cherneva, informs.

Cherneva spoke for the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, Sunday in the aftermath of the devastating 9 point magnitude on the Richter scale earthquake and tsunami that hit japan on March 11.

The Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo was able to get in touch with over 200 Bulgarians living in JapanSunday morning. They have reported that no one has been injured.

The Foreign Ministry and the Embassy appeal to all Bulgarian in Japan, who have not been in touch with the diplomatic representation to call it at  (0081) (3) 34 65 10 21.

The Ministry is asking Bulgarians to avoid traveling to Japan unless absolutely necessary and urgent.
