Bulgaria's two mainstream right-wing parties joined in the so-called Blue Coalition have decided to come out with a common candidate for the presidential elections in the fall.
The news was broken Thursday by Martin Dimitrov, leader of the Union of Democratic Forces.
Speaking in the historic Pleven on Bulgaria's Liberation Day, Dimitrov stated that the UDF and Ivan Kostov's Democrats for Strong Bulgaria will join forces once again for the fall presidential elections.
The common campaign will be based on an written agreement between the two parties, which is currently under negotiation, as is the figure of their common presidential nominee.
Dimitrov also stated that the Blue Coalition will also be together for the municipal elections, also scheduled for the fall.
"Our goal is to bring together authentic rightist parties - without the ruling GERB party - in order to achieve good results," said Dimitrov.
Currently, the Blue Coalition has a parilamentary group of 14 MPs and a support of around 3-5%.
