The Turkish Iskenderun ship has successfully arrived at the port of Marmaris evacuating 1518 people from Libya, including 22 Bulgarian citizens.

A total of 1091 Turkish citizens and 427 foreigners were evacuated from the ongoing severe turmoil in the North African country with the ship which arrived around midnight local time on Sunday in Turkey, the Bulgarian bTV private channel has informed , with Vietnamese nationals constituting the largest number - 208 people.

Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Ministry had announced that as many as 50 Bulgarians registered for the Turkish ship, after the Turks generously offered help in evacuating people from violence ridden Libya.

Later on Monday, Bulgaria's cabinet will send the government's Airbus on at least one more flight to Tripoli to evacuate Bulgarian citizens stranded there by the raging civil war. Up to now, a total of 111 Bulgarians have been evacuated from Libya on board of 2 government planes.
