Bulgarian nationalist party Ataka has no intentions to withdraw support from the center-right GERB cabinet ruling the country, according to Ataka leader Volen Siderov.

Saturday Siderov was on a visit to southern city of Haskovo to meet local voters.

"Ataka has the potential to muster 2 or 3 times more supporters, and it should show that in the upcoming municipal and presidential elections in the fall," stated Siderov.

The Ataka leader said that accordingly his party will stand on its own for elections and will not enter into coalition with other political forces.

He also reiterated that he will file his candidacy for the presidential elections, advising other parties to disclose their choices as soon as possible.

Regarding the support of the GERB cabinet, Siderov stated that a withdrawal of Ataka would destabilize the country and is no option.

GERB has a large minority of 117 MPs out of 240 and relies on Ataka's 20 MPs, after rightists from the Blue Coalition (14 MPs) have started to become ever more critical of the government.
