The Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a warning Saturday asking Bulgarian citizens to refrain from traveling to Egypt in the upcoming days.
The Ministry informs the situation in Egypt had worsened overnight and the capital Cairo is blocked by military, with tanks and armored vehicles on all major thoroughfares.
Communications are partially restored but remain very difficult. The country's airports remain open.
Earlier Saturday, a plane travelling from the UK to Egypt was diverted to Greece after a note containing the word "bomb" was apparently found on board.
The EgyptAir jet, which had departed from London's Heathrow Airport, was carrying 251 passengers when it landed at Athens International Airport.
Demonstrations in Cairo, asking for the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, continue with violent clashes and shots being fired.
Per Mubarak's late Friday announcement the cabinet resigned Saturday, but the President, himself, made it clear he has no intentions of quitting.
The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has not yet received any information about Bulgarians stranded in Egypt, asking for assistance, spokesperson, Vesela Cherneva, says.
