The Bulgarian Parliamentary Subcommittee for Special Surveillance Devices Control is holding an emergency meeting Thursday afternoon.

The members of the Subcommittee will question an employee of the Interior Ministry over his alleged involvement in the use of special surveillance devices to tape the Customs Director, Vanyo Tanov.

The Subcommittee is meeting for the 4th time. The first hearing was with the prosecutor, who has issued the warrant for the use of the devices; the second – with the former employee of the State Agency for National Security (DANS), Rosen Milanov; the third – with a current DANS employee over possible connection to and participation in the spying.

The Subcommittee's Chair, Yavor Notev, from the far-right, nationalist Ataka party, explained the scope of their probe had expanded after new recordings of conversations between Tanov and Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, were released by the Galeria weekly on Wednesday.
