Bulgaria's PM Boyko Borisov vowed to continue reforms and expressed hopes that Parliament will back the vote of confidence for his cabinet's overall policy.

"I called for this vote of confidence so that we know whether we have a parliament that can help us with the reforms," stated Borisov in his final speech before the actual vote.

"In five months there will be local and presidential elections, otherwise I would have called for early elections, but that is not good for the country at the moment," added the PM.

He moreover criticised the rightist Blue Coalition for claiming support of the government, but neverthless vowing to abstain from voting.

The roll call vote of confidence is currently imminent at the plenary hall.
