Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov has sent a congratulatory telegram to Brazil's President-elect Dilma Rousseff on her stepping in office.
"Your campaign and victory have touched have touched the Bulgarian society. I am confident that the increased political interest will have a very positive effect on the mutual relations of our two nations," Parvanov has written.
The Bulgarian President has confirmed the invitation for Dilma Rousseff to visit Bulgaria in 2011 and has pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary since the renewal of the Bulgarian-Brazilian diplomatic relations.
Rousseff, who is of Bulgarian origin, will replace Brazil's popular President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was elected in 2002.
A total of 47 world figures have confirmed their attendance at the inauguration of Brazilian President-elect Dilma Rousseff, Brazil's first woman president. The inaugural activities on Jan. 1 have already begun at 14:30 local time.
