Bulgaria's State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR) is convening behind closed doors Monday to make a final decision on natural gas and heating prices.

The new prices will be effective for 3 months, beginning on January 1, 2011.

It is expected DKEVR will approve a price reduction of about 5.2% for natural gas.

The Commission's Head, Angel Semerdzhiev, announced, during an open meeting on December 22, there is a strong possibility heating prices would also go down starting January 1.

The average price reduction of heating and hot water for Bulgaria is expected to be 5% and even larger in the biggest cities.
