The Bulgarian and other countries' firefighters, who helped extinguish a forest blaze in Israel, will receive three-days of honors by the Israeli government and people.
The information is reported by the Bulgarian daily "Trud" (Labor) Thursday.
On Tuesday, the firefighters from 18 countries were officially sent off in the Presidential Residency in Jerusalem with certificates of appreciation and gifts in the name of President, Shimon Peres.
The Bulgarian firemen left for Israel in the evening of December 3 on the personal order of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, and returned on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, the cabinet voted to give each of the 92 firefighters an award of BGN 1 000.
Borisov further informs he held a personal phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, who secured permission for the Bulgarian civilian airplane to land at a military airport in Israel – a first in the country's history.
Israel's Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, is in Bulgaria Thursday and will extend personal thanks to the Bulgarian firemen.
