Bulgarian cousins of Brazil's President-elect Dilma Vana Rousseff are celebrating her victory Monday whishing her strenght and hoping to see her in Bulgaria soon.
"I am extremely happy and proud by the news that Dilma won the run off. She is a woman, who succeeded because she has courage, integrity and character" her cousin, Ralitsa Negentsova, lawyer and member of Bulgaria's Central Election Commission, said.
In the city of Gabrovo, Rousseff's father's hometown, another cousin wishes Dilma success and hopes the relative will visit Bulgaria and Gabrovo soon.
"I wish her health and courage. I am convinced she would not disappoint her voters and supporters," Toshka Kovacheva, whose deceased husband is Rousseff's first cousin, pointed out.
"She is the proof that those who fight win," Gabrovo's Mayor, Nikolay Sirakov, added.
Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, sent Monday an official letter of congratulations to Rousseff over her victory and election as Brazil's next President, the Presidential press office informs.
"The people of Brazil gave you a huge confidence vote and their faith you would continue to carry out the policy that placed your country among the leading economies in the world and improved the welfare and the social status of millions of Brazilians," the address reads.
Parvanov also voices hopes that Dilma Rousseff would visit Bulgaria very soon.
