The leader of the Bulgarian conservative Order, Law and Justice party (RZS), Yane Yanev told media Thursday he visited the recently released from jail former undercover agent and controversial businessman, Aleksei Petrov, on Petrov's own invitation.

On Wednesday, Yanev went to the home where the ex employee of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) is held under house arrest, and a day later announced in the Parliament's hallway that Petrov plans to become actively involved in politics. He asked to meet with RZS first because they were the only politicians he trusted to implement real changes, according to Yanev.

"I am aware of your ideas for new Constitution and I wish to meet you; so if you are not concerned and nervous about visiting me, you are welcome to my house," Petrov's brother Ognyan conveyed the message to Yanev in a phone conversation.

The conservative leader pointed out this is the first time he was in this home.

Petrov's condition to enter politics was to have a team of supporters, and he had asked Yanev if he was ready to propose a team-based cabinet as an alternative to the dictatorship and police abuse reigning in Bulgaria now.

The RZS leader further explained the ex agent wanted to include in the above said team experts not only from the Conservatives, but from the ruling center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party, from the nationalist, far-right Ataka and from the right-wing Blue Coalition.

When asked by a reporter how GERB can be its own alternative, Yanev explained many people inside the party now think differently than a cabinet that cannot deal with the crisis.

The Head of the Conservatives voiced his conviction Petrov has a lot to contribute both to his party and to the country's leadership, adding he had proposed to the later to work on forming an expert council for national security and constitutional order.

Yanev, however, firmly denied long-time rumors his party is actually financed by the former agent, adding many people are afraid of Petrov's knowledge of top secrets from Bulgaria's 20 years of transition.

When asked if his new ally really fell from his prison bed and this is why he went to the courtroom with a black eye, the conservative leader said: "He did not fall from any bed. There was an order for a physical attack on him in jail, but the truth will be revealed soon."

RZS further inform that on Friday the party will hold a special press conference to present evidence of corruption of a top minister from the GERB cabinet.
