Protesters have thrown petrol bombs and stones at the participants in the ongoing Gay Parade in Belgrade, Serbia, the BBC reports.

Police used tear gas against the protesters, who tried to break through the armed security, protecting the participants in the event.

On Saturday, some 10,000 people took part in an anti-gay rally in Belgrade.

Carrying Serbian and church flags, and banners with slogans "in defense of the family", the opponents of the planned gay parade, including nationalist extremists but also many families with young kids, marched with demands for the cancellation of what they see as a "disgraceful" event.

On Sunday, police stated that several officers have been injured in the clashes and anumber of people have been arrested.

Despite the rioters' shouts "Death to homosexuals," the march is continuing.

According to the BBC, the first ever Gay Parade in Serbia in 2001 was broken up in violent clashes, provoked by far-right extremists.

Oh please - better not to post anything and save the bandwidth than puke silliness like this. If you don't want to argue any more, let the thread die.

The Serbians are accustomed to War, Civil War, Ethnic Cleansing and now the Gay Community.

It seems the Religious Community in Serbia is asleep and forgot "Love thy Neighbor".

Maybe we can plant Nellie as the storm trooper and use the formula of elimination.
