The Resurgence of Natural Gas: A Clean and Affordable Energy Solution
The concluded winter presented unusually elevated temperatures and a 'milder' heating season for thousands of Bulgarians
The Bulgarian State Commission on Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR) will discuss on Tuesday the decrease of the natural gas price by 1% from October.
The energy watchdog has already announced that the decrease would be too small and even if he natural gas price drops down by 1%, it would not decrease the prices for heating and hot water for the next quarter, and even for the whole heating season.
If the proposal is approved, during the next quarter, 1000 cubic meters natural gas will be sold for about BGN 537 VAT excluded.
The prices for heating and hot water in the winter will keep their level from the summer. Then, the increase in the price for heating went up in the range between 0,5% and 19% for the different utilities.
The biggest increase of heating price was in Sofia. The citizens of the capital will pay about 19% more this winter in comparison to last year.
Most of the other consumers will pay between 10% and 16% more for heating.
