The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia had approved and financed the initiative to air TV programs in Bulgarian language on the Serbian Pi TV (TV Pirot) channel.

The initiative belongs the Bulgarian Consular office in Nis and the Pirot municipality.

The news was reported Tuesday by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry.

Beginning October 1, each week in the course of 6 months, the channel will broadcast 30-minutes-long programs in Bulgarian to include news, guests, a main topic, music and other culture related documentaries. The project will end with a special edition of a 60-minute round table with Bulgarian participation.

The programs have the goal to serve ethnic Bulgarians in the Serbian municipalities of Dimitrovgrad, Bosilegrad, Pirot and Bela Palanka.
