The Chief Secretary of the Bulgarian Interior Ministry and the Police Lieutenant General for Northern Greece have discussed the creation of mixed Bulgarian-Greek traffic police around the borders.
The Bulgarian Kalin Georgiev and the Greek Konstantinos Kasapakis met Thursday to discuss the deepening of the bilateral cooperations between the two countries.
Georgiev handed his Greek counterpart a draft of rules for joint actions by the traffic police officers in Bulgaria and Greece, which to be discussed by experts in order to be implemented from the next tourist season.
The two have also discussed the possibilities for police officers from Bulgaria and Greece to undergo an intensive course in the other country's language in order to facilitate the communication and cooperation in the border areas.
Both sides praised the recently increased intensity of the bilateral relations between the political and professional leaderships of the two ministries, as well as between the related structures, which resulted in an improved operational interaction and exchange of information.
Kasapakis was on a four-day visit to Bulgaria, which focused on his acquaintance with the work of the joint Bulgarian-Romanian police in the border areas and around the Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria.
