The President of Israel Shimon Peres will discuss bilateral cooperation between his country and Bulgaria in technology, industry and tourism fields with Bulgaria’s PM and Energy Minister.
Peres will pay a visit to Bulgaria Wednesday at the invitation of the Bulgarian head of state Georgi Parvanov.
The press office of the Bulgarian Presidency points out that the visit will return Parvanov’s trip to Israel in 2008, and “is the result of the high level of the bilateral relations in all spheres”.
With Borisov and Traikov, Peres will discuss innovations, energy and tourism. This meeting, will be a continuation of the discussions during Traikov’s visit to Israel.
Then, the major topic was the cooperation between the two countries in innovative projects in priority fields for both countries – high technology and services, modern agriculture, medical equipment and pharmacy.
During Wednesday’s talks, both sides will discuss the opportunities for realizing cooperative initiatives for boosting the energy efficiency, as well as for encouraging the usage of the potential of renewable energy sources.
Cooperation between Bulgaria and Israel in the production of electric cars and biofuels and in the development ad implementation of intelligent managing systems for electricity consumption will also be among the discussed topics.
Two new agreements between Bulgaria and Israel, which were agreed during Traikov’s visit in Tel Aviv in April, are expected to be signed soon. The two countries are also expected to discuss the opportunities for active information exchange in the field of tourism, the increase of tourist flow between the two countries, implementation of joint tourist activities and participation of common investment projects in this sphere.
