The Bulgarian Foreign Minister will announce by the end of the year the possibilities for training of Palestinian security forces and education of Palestinian citizens in Bulgaria.

Minister Nikolay Mladenov met Wednesday with his Palestinian counterpart, Ryiad Al-Maliki, who is part of the government delegation led by President Mahmoud Abbas. The delegation has been invited on a two-day visit to Bulgaria by the President Georgi Parvanov.

Minister Mladenov has stated that from all the possible spheres of education, priority for the Palestinian are the spheres connected with security.

Al-Maliki has confirmed that training in Bulgaria in the security field is a priority for Palestina as well. He added that his country will participate in the discussions with Israel.

On Tuesday, the President of the Palestinian Authoroty met with his Bulgarian counterpart and the PM Boyko Borisov.

At the meetings, Abbas and Parvanov discussed current developments in the Middle East peace process and opportunities for Palestinian students to receive an education in Bulgaria.

The possibility for Bulgarian companies to realize infrastructure projects in Palestine was a major topic of the talks between the Abbas and Borisov.
