Belene NPP is a vital project”, said speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament Tsetska Tsacheva on a visit to industries in northern Bulgarian city of Pleven.

The speaker of the National Assembly reiterated her view that he project for a second Bulgarian NPP would prove greatly beneficial for the economic situation region of Northern Bulgaria.

Tsetska Tsacheva is on a visit Monday to industry enterprises in Pleven, where she was elected as a MP, to discuss the economic prospects of the region.

“I am confident that building Belene NPP will have started by the end of the current cabinet's term [2013],” said Tsatscheva.

Tsatcheva was critical of the way the high-profile project was managed up to now, including the lack of clear rules about its execution.

She was nevertheless confident that in view of last week's Russian-Bulgarian talks the project is on the right track.
