The Russian trade representative in Bulgaria has been dismissed, the Russian information agency RIA Novosti reports.

Alexander Tomilov will be released from his duties, starting June 26, the Russian cabinet had announced.

The move comes in the aftermath of statements of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, that Bulgaria is pulling out of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil line and is freezing the project to build a second nuclear power plant in the Danube town of Belene.

Borisov made headlines with these announcements before EU Ambassadors to Sofia last Friday, but later said the official final decision on both projects had not yet been made.
