Proposed price hikes for electricity and heating are to be put on public consultation Friday at Bulgaria's State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation.
According to the latest calculations from the state regulator, the price of electricity for households would be up to 2%.
This figure is down from previously announced 5%, on the ground that electricity-distribution utitlities have forcasted less revenue than actualy made, according to Commission director Angel Semerdzhiev.
Thursday Bulgarian state gas company Bulgargaz requested a price hike of 24% for the price of natural gas. The price of gas has a direct effect on the price of heating, which is to a large extent gas-dependent.
According to Semerdzhiev, if approved, the proposed raise of the price of gas is going to translate into an at least 15% raise of the price of heating.
